FACEBOOK constantly update their platform for many reasons including security fixes, app enhancements, brands marketing and introducing features to reduce fake news as well as a fact check system, warning groups which posts includes wrong information as posted by a user.
The next FACEBOOK GROUPS enhancement will be a major overhaul and with this in mind, Group Owners are targeted to form part of their Facebook Community Learning Labs in a trail.
The very next upcoming test to be carried out, has identified the local Facebook Group JEFFREYS BAY ONLINE as a suitable test bed.
The product team is testing a new experience for Public Groups with a very small number of groups that will introduce some significant new features and change some existing features. These features are meant to help the group grow and reach new members while giving new controls and tools to keep the group safe and relevant.
FACEBOOK invited JEFFREYS BAY ONLINE to participate in this test and get access to this new experience first, as the feedback would be very valuable in helping to shape this product’s future.
The product test would take place from October 15 – November 15 (4 weeks). Reply to this email and let me know by Thursday August 27.
Creator and Owner of the Group, Gerhardt Fouche, was very excited about being involved with the upcoming tests and being given the recognition by FACEBOOK, who indicated a few reasons for this selection as being a well organised and controlled environment that interacts very well with the community and who moderates the group to a very high standard.
Gerhardt immediately indicated that this could not have been achieved without his fellow admins and moderators who maintains a high standard in the interest of the community.
JEFFREYS BAY ONLINE was selected with only one other FACEBOOK GROUP in South Africa to participate in the upcoming tests.
