The Community of KOUGA as well as residents from Port Elizabeth, adjacent towns, Joubertina and Kareedouw took to the streets of Jeffreys Bay today on a cloudy and chilly Sunday morning, with scattered rain at times.
The community took part in National Black Monday in what was described on the Facebook Page as: “‘n Volk wat in Eenheid staan teen Plaasmoorde en die Brutale aanvalle op ons BOERE. Ons is teen Rasisme, Grondgrype en Sosialistiese Kommunisme.”
The peaceful slow drive started at Mentor Plaza, through Jeffreys Bay, via Da Gama and the R102, back to Mentor Plaza. A moment of silence and prayer started the day before the convoy proceeded at 11:45 through the streets lined by local residents dressed in black with national flags and white crosses. St Francis road was lined with White Crosses to honour and support our farmers.
The local Social media platforms were buzzing with images and videos of this event.
