HERO OF THE WEEK : THE RED FROGS
This week we don’t have a hero. We have 7. These special people are all volunteers for the Red Frogs and like true heroes they made a difference.
The aim of the Red Frogs NPO is to be a positive presence in the partying environment. They have officially been running in South Africa since 2009, and you can find a Red Frog Crew of volunteers at Matric holidays, universities and festivals around the country. The Red Frog Crew is most well-known assisting party-goers by walking young people home, cooking pancakes, handing out Allen’s Red Frogs* , and most importantly, offering emotional support through what can often be a challenging season of life.
By helping young people to make positive and informed choices in the partying culture, Red Frogs is safeguarding the next generation of South African young people. They have spent the last week in Jbay to serve our next generation in an amazing practical way.
Carine White met the team leader Matt, and Abo a volunteer, yesterday. They plan to be back here everytime there are rages, winter fests etc. And they plan to bring more and more Redfrogs. In Ballito this year, they had 190 volunteers.
Many thanks to Je Vista who once again supported our community by treating these guys to the awesome Je Vista milkshakes as a token of appreciation and respect on behalf of this face book group.
Also to Jolly Dolphin who sponsored their cooldrinks. These guys do not drink alcohol….
Awesome guys. Thank you!
Please read up about the work they do at http://za.redfrogs.com
